Thanks for visiting the SP ROADRUNNERS fundraising page.

The Philp and Saffin families both continue to have a lot to do with the Royal Children's Hospital.
Matilda spent time at RCH when she was nearly two after sustaining scalds to her face, and shoulders resulting in the loss of her right ear. She spent five weeks in RCH including a week in intensive care due to swelling of her throat from scalding. She also required a number of graphs to the burns areas. We have continued to visit RCH as an outpatient and this year Matilda will go back into RCH for the first stage of a series of planned surgeries.
Bella was born prematurely with Gastroschiesis. She now lives with the chronic medical condition Short Bowel Syndrome. As a baby she was in hospital until she was seven months old. Now she is fed overnight through a tube in her tummy and takes meds every day. Bella has regular checkups and occasional admissions at the childrens hosptal and is followed closely by the clinical nutritian team.
Bella and Matilda were on the same ward at RCH in 2008 with Matilda being discharged a short time before Bella arrived. They didn't know each other then but have since met and become great friends. Bella has been in the same class as Matilda's sister Sasha for the last four years and Matilda is in grade four with Bella's brother Josh. We have all become great family friends.
This year we have joined together in our support of the Good Friday Appeal. We welcome everyone to support us by either joining us on the day or making a tax deductable donation to this worthwhile cause.
Bella and Matilda are running this year for the first time. They are joined by Josh and Sasha along with other family and friends.
